harmony... today i'll be out practicing songs (apparently 'till midnight) with our SFC choir... 'hope to God i retain some vocal chords... we will once more practice our harmonies, vocal arrangements to sing for Mass during our Lenten Retreat... i'm thankful that we are finally in sync in terms of our musical commitments, especially with such talented people in the group... i think it makes our tone-deaf Lord happy... the next project, hopefully would be an SFC band, complete with drums, bass, keys, vocals, lead & rhythm... *sigh* it's a dream of mine... ah, heaven is in my heart... hum and do-wop with the singers at Primarily A Capella...

acoustic poetry... someday, i wish to be able to recall a song i wrote, no matter how long ago i composed it... oh, would that just be the ticket!... i'm amazed at how fluid some songwriters are in their writing and arranging and feeling and thinking... sort of like a symphony before a symphony... performing it would be the easiest stunt... i recently wrote a song based on Psalm 23... i actually finished it(!) and now i just need to put it on a lead sheet and make a demo... *sigh* i have a dream... acoustic poetry... to just sit down one day, after a good cup of tea, and write... acoustic poetry... then i would nap for a few... and have the most moving dream... acoustic poetry... and i wake up and write more... strum the melody in my head... pick at the ivories in my brain... hear a sonnet's harmony... acoustic poetry... hmmmm... for more ear candy, visit the mecca of songwriting at http://ascap.org/...

chicken wings... last night, after our youth ministry band practice, some of us hung out at my house and i cooked some chicken wings.. smothered in honey and salt & pepper, i baked the wings at 400 degrees and grilled to a golden brown, i sprinkled them with garlic butter seasoning... then we wrote a song about it... sort of like an Alanis Morrisette-type song, with a side order of mayo, Hoisin sauce and tangy salsa... *yum* ...reminds me of John Mayer... to anyone out there who is a budding guitarist... you really should write a song one of these days... be a poet at least once...

what can i say, these guys are awesome... their lyrical prowess and musical idiosyncracies make for an interesting listen... (i did blog about their song "My Only Hope")... yes, THEY wrote this awesome song... please note that i've never stopped liking alternative music, and now they have cool Christian bands like Switchfoot... hoo-ah!
